Fishing at Sutton Bingham Reservoir

Fly fish for rainbow and brown trout, either from a boat or the bank, at Sutton Bingham Reservoir.

Maintenance work at Sutton Bingham

The path along the dam at Sutton Bingham will be shut from 19 August to the end of October due to planned work. This means anglers won't be able to fish from the North Bank, but the Lodge Bank, South Bank and boats will not be affected.

Due to this work, there will also be limited parking near the lodge. Please keep the spaces nearest to the lodge free for less mobile customers and if space is limited park on the grass to the right-hand side of the main entrance (near the welcome sign). Feel free to unload equipment by the lodge and park your car afterwards.

We will be reducing boat prices by £5 during the work to try and make up for any inconvenience caused. The discount will be automatically applied at checkout.

About Sutton Bingham Reservoir

The reservoir offers some excellent top-water trout fishing, both early and late season and is one reservoir where anglers have the option of fishing most of the season with a floating line.

The venue is very well stocked with rainbows and brown trout averaging 2lb, with some surprise double-figure specimens.

Early season the main body of water at the dam end of the reservoir fishes very well, while from midseason onwards loch-style boat fishing is good, particularly in the southern arm.
