Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the www.wessexwater.co.uk website. It does not cover other wessexwater.co.uk subdomains which have their own accessibility statements.

This website is run by YTL UK Group digital service. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. You should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWs, NVDA and Voiceover.

We are also making progress to make the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

Parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:

  • some pages and document attachments are not written in plain English and are quite technical
  • most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • several videos do not have an audio description or transcript; these videos have been removed until they are accessible to a user
  • some images do not have alt descriptions and are purely decorative.

Parts of this website are also provided by third parties, which are not fully accessible:

  • the cookie consent banner and settings is not fully accessible to keyboard
  • the Trustpilot graphics have an insufficient colour contrast
  • our live chat system has an insufficient colour contrast
  • some pages host dynamic maps provided by a third party which are not fully accessible to screen readers.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix some of our historic annual reports. But we have made a commitment to ensure all PDFs and documents going forward will be made accessible.

Third party products and websites

Some parts of our website may require the use of third party services, including:

  • cookie management
  • customer reviews (Trustpilot)
  • tag management/analytics (Google Tag Manager)
  • live chat (Synthetix)
  • maps and geospatial data (Esri ArcGIS, Google Maps)
  • anti-bot checks (Google reCAPTCHA)
  • embedded video players (YouTube, Vimeo).

Our website may also contain hyperlinks to external third party websites. We have no control over the content published on third party websites, their products or their accessibility.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility
